I don't see why Arizona does that. Their Asking price for Chychrun alone was 2 1sts+

Yes the problem is the plus's also has to have value and Vejmelka is a worth a 1st himself easy, if Arizona even wanted to move him

its not like their getting nothing in return in terms of both D and Goalie, and if the demand for chychrun was two first last year its gotta be a little less now that a years gone of the contract and his play didnt increase his value from where he was at. hence why hes been trade bait for over 365 days

I wouldn’t trade Mitts for LaBanc straight up,
let alone add a 3rd

Mitts is younger, has more points, and we’re finally starting to see him develop bc he’s been able to stay healthy for the 1st time in a while

I’m assuming you’re not a Sabres fan?
It’s not a horrible trade, but still- it doesn’t make a ton of sense for us either

He's had a relatively good year but the coaches hate him and scratch him all the time. He's great on the power play, sets up great plays but isn't committed defensively.

He's got a baby due soon so maybe that's on his mind. He also bought a house in SJ this year.

At least make it Phil 2nd, take out Bryson and give them Johnson's rights.

I get your point but A) hes not that much younger B) Labanc is a way more complete player that has great production potential given a proper fit a way. and will give the sabers a way better chance of making playoffs and help the younger guys on how to win in the playoffs. i think this thread isn't understanding what labanc can add cuz he plays out west.

And i think you’re underrating Mittelstadt
It’s not a deal we’d do imo

Sure
But Mittelstadt is not a spot we are trying to upgrade
And it’s arguable just how much of an upgrade LaBanc even is
Especially since Mitts is still young & getting better
This is the 1st season Mitts has stayed healthy, & there’s been a dramatic jump in production

If we were gonna move him,
it’s much more likely (imo) that he’d be one of the pieces in a package to get a guy like Meier
