I’m confused by who Sam Reinhart is…what does he bring to the Canes lineup. Honestly, the value doesn’t seem to be bad here I’m this trade, but is he really a scoring winger?

Canes need a forward who can put the puck in the net.

He's a 30-goal scorer with a good contract. Scores on the PP and even strength. He's also responsible defensively as a former center.

The Panthers won't do this, though. A late 1st isn't enticing. This isn't much more than what they gave to Buffalo for Reinhart and that was when he hadn't scored more than 25 goals, had no deal and openly wanted out

Edit: okay, that's Philly's 2nd rounder, so almost a 1st. This is more than the Panthers' package to Buffalo. Still, there's no reason for the Panthers to be sellers
