Vrana is back in Grand Rapids?

He was called up 4 games ago and LaLonde didn’t put him in until the 4th game which was super odd. Idgaf what his excuse was or anybody that wants to rationalize it; Dominik Kubalik or Joe Veleno or Filip Zadina are not better options to suit up over Jakub Vrana.

He comes in against WSH and plays well and then he’s dropped down to the AHL again or somewhere/thing else? Does he no longer have to pass thru waivers anymore since he already cleared earlier this year?

If you’re not gonna play the guy; trade him to an NHL team where he’ll play. I’m not sure how or why but, it’s very obvious there is a big time beef between LaLonde & Vrana for reasons unknown.

LaLonde went out of his way to call Vrana’s scoring ability “potential” when it’s very clear when you’ve scored 22 goals in 40 games played in a Detroit uniform, you’re past “potential”. Felt like a clear jab to Vrana and it’s frustrating to not have any clarity on this.

I assume it's back dowm to GR to get Raymond off IR, I'm not sure of the time table but you only have to pass through waivers once and it's good for a period of time. He got sent down I believe on Jan 3 and I thought it was only valid for 30 days. They could just be exposing him to waivers again thinking someone might bite for the playoffs or to flip him and make a profit.

Ah, okay. That sucks. This is dumb, though. He should be on the NHL roster playing. He scores over a goal every other game and we’re a terrible offensive team. We won yesterday with Pius Suter & Robert Hagg getting on the board with Larkin missing a majority of the game.

What is the endgame here? 😐

Ok so officially he's waiver except until he plays 10 games in the nhl or spends 30 days in the nhl then he'd have to clear again. So I guess it could be a paper transaction to prolong his waiver eligibility by sending him to the ahl for a day and calling him back up for the next game. It still could be Raymond is coming off IR and someone has to go.
