ANA? DET? Half way through making this team I hated it. Made do

Created by: PhatRas
Team: 2017-18 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 14, 2017

Description
I am not overly sure how highly ANA values Josh Manson, with the log jam on the blue line I figured there would be some wiggle room.

Same with Mrazek, not sure if that deal gets it done but they have 3 goalies that can all play at an NHL level

I don't think that works for DET. Mrazek, while inconsistent, has shown considerable stretches of Vezna caliber goaltending. The Wings are very unlikely to sell low on him now unless someone is willing to bet that he'll end up being closer to Vezna caliber than what he showed this year. Tatar is good for 20-30 goals/year and probably worth an A-/B+ prospect plus a 2nd/3rd round pick by himself. While Kylington and Parsons are attractive pieces they don't come close to getting the job done in my opinion. Plus on top you have a cap dump in Brower and us sending a 2nd rounder as well. Don't see this working for DET.

Cool, very fair analysis, I kind of figured he Brouwer piece would be a problem, I think thank if they send Abdelkader (excuse spelling) would be the only way that Brouwer goes the other way. And Howard is much more reasonable, I just want Mrazek!! Lol! Thanks for the feedback!

No problem! I've been trying to make a Howard to CGY deal work in my head for a while but it's just too damn hard cause of this goalie market, expansion draft, and all the other moving pieces. I'd also be open to a Mrazek trade but the price would be very high. I hope DET management feels the same.

Murray makes some questionable moves but he wouldn't trade Manson to a divison rival, let alone trade him at all.

Where does he slot though? Which of Lindholm, Vatanaan and Fowler would you trade before Manson? If Bennett was coming the other way without picks would it be more feasible? Not that I want to see that, again, division rival taxes.

There have been some clear trends in the rumor mill that Manson is absolutely not available for trade. Lindholm and Fowler are the other two ANA prefers. Vatanen is the guy that's available. Friedman pitched a Bennett for Vatanen swap idea a few weeks back. I would imagine that a team like TOR would be willing to outbid CGY for a dman, and rightly so.

Don't think that a trade like that within the division makes much sense for ANA/CGY. I like Vatanen, but I'd prefer a steadier shot suppressing partner to pair with Brodie so that he can do a bit more offensive damage for CGY again. Vatanen also not "big" and he's out recovering from a (hip?) surgery well into November 2017.
