Pretty good ideas! Not sure if we sign Jarry and Zucker that cheap... But solidifying a third line for the Penguin's is a must. Not sure if Pickering is able to make the jump to the first pairing either... Would love to get rid of the Carter contract. Would rather have Cullen back then him lol

I like it. A young guy needs to play on one of the top 2 lines to help with depth.

The only issue is Pickering. I doubt he even makes the roster next year - let alone be a top pair dman

yes I hope Poulin can take that spot next season ( if not him puusty ) young legs and would leave a great 3rd line

as far as pickering I'm probably just dreaming, he 95% isn't playing that role, we should trade smith and a 2nd for a good defensive d playing alongside tanger with some retention

with jarry I think depends on this end of the season and hopefully playoff, however if he is not particularly great his range is 5 - 6 mil

I left 2mil in cap space to juggle with.

Agreed. They need to capitalize on the fact that Sid and Malkin can still make a line great even if it doesn't have the best players on their wings. And use that to help improve the 3rd line. That's not a bad idea - although I have no idea who that dman would be?

Honestly, with the way Pettersson and POJ have been playing - I think I would be fine running Pettersson/POJ/Smith on the left side.

yeah it would still be fine probably. chychrun would have been ideal, pickering and a 1st and a second with 1mil retained would have been ideal. now I don't know, maybe Hanifin even if it a tough trade could fit very well

Yeah Chychrun made too much sense - that's why you knew it would never happen haha. Dumo's salary would've went to him, Blueger's goes to Jarry's raise. Then you have 6mil from Kap/McGinn, 5.5mil from Zucker plus 1mil from JJ buyout and 1mil from cap increase to sign 2 or 3 forwards forwards basically. Would have been so nice.

Hannifin might be tough just because I think the Flames plan on being competitive next year - probably not that interested in selling. Just a guess.
