I know this is just an outline, but I don't think we'll see that many of our young players be good enough to hold those spots. All of Raty, Hoglander, Podkolzin, Kravtsov, McDonough, Karlsson, Dermott, Rathbone and Johansson won't be on the team in 2 years. If we can get 3 of those guys to be regular players that would be a success and I'd bet on Podkolzin, Kravtsov and Raty.

The cap should go up a lot more by this point too. Hopefully it will be over 90M but that may be unrealistic now.

I’ll add the D needs to be much further along in being better. It has to keep up with the forwards timeline.

Totally, I was more thinking about what the Ideal would be for the structure of the last RFA deals of guys like Hogs and Podz, I think that we should look to sign contracts that are risks by length because the cap is going up. This would allow for the Canucks to get value out of contracts, following the TBL framework in a player like Paul or what it looks like Jeannot will be getting, player gets security and money, team gets a value contract

That makes sense, but honestly the only one I'd feel comfortable giving a long term deal to with a low cap hit is Podkolzin.

After seeing the system that Tocc plays I feel comfortable giving it to Hogs too, Its all about being defensively responsible and not blowing the zone, and if you watch him in Abby he has been a LOT better with that
