Not sure how Minnesota would fit Kuzy @3.9 in (maybe moving Foligno) but he'd be a good add for them down the middle.

You’d take Fantilli over Michkov? I think Michkov is going to be unreal but having to wait 3 years kind of sucks.

2024 1st + McM I assume would be asking ? Hopefully 2024 1st + Chelsey

I'm guessing the logic is Fantilli might be able to help bring Ovi another cup but with Michkov it would be up in the air whether or not Ovi is still around when he comes over.

Absolutely you take Fantilli over Michkov. While I think both will be superstars you get Fantilli earlier and he's a center. More valuable.

To be fair Vrana was also a healthy scratch for Washington. It would be very stupid to base your logic off that.

They are cap strapped, if they want to resign any of the guys they traded for (Orlov, Hathaway, Bertuzzi) they have to unload some guys and unloading Hall's 6 mil contract along with Reilly's and Forbort's....it will give them the space they need to re-sign these guys if they are planning to re-sign them.

I'm big on Michkov as well, but yeah I'd go Fantilli for sure. It's way easier to round out the roster with wingers than it is to try and find a true 1C. Setting up long term with Fantilli, Strome and Lapierre down the middle would be a great way to get back into contention quickly. Miroshnichenko also looks like a good top six guy, so I think going Fantilli makes roster building much easier and you're still getting a freakin stud

I can't imagine Boston wanting to move Hall, or Hall wanting to leave Boston. I do think that a player like him would be a great fit for what we need to do. More play driving, guys that can skate the puck through the NZ. Caps rely on dumping and retrieving wayyyy too much given how quick defensemen are now.

Thinks that style of play is going to change with a coaching change

I don't think that's a pure Laviolette thing. I actually agree that the way the Caps are currently built, they should be dumping and forechecking more than trying to skate it in. You see guys like Milano and Johansson skate the puck a bit more, but there just isn't the team speed to do it regularly IMO. If I recall correctly, Lav's Nashville teams skated the puck in a fair amount during the playoff run. I think it's a personnel decision
