No way in hell is Mike Grier eating nearly $22,000,000 for the next 4 years on Erik Karlsson, You'd have to pay the Sharks to take Jack Campbell off your hands. Plus Bouchard and a late 2024 1st isn't enough for that kind of retention. With Ekholm added now Karlsson is a major pipedream. Grier won't eat more than $2,000,000 on Karlsson you're living in fantasy land here.

In essence we’re giving you Karlsson at Campbell cost and taking Campbell at Karlsson cost.
And in return for taking a horrible contract and giving you the consensus Norris winner at 1/2 his salary is Bouchard who we will then have to pay and a late 1st…. Next year, in a much weaker draft class. Bouchard isn’t going to be a top line RD stud and that 1st has a 50/50 shot at best of being a solid contributor. Sorry but no thanks
