Backstrom will be back next year, it's more likely Oshie will LTIRetire and even then I doubt it'll be this year. This would make the ROR signing obsolete.

Mantha was decent last year before being absolutely ruined by Laviolette and Bertuzzi brings a game that Washington already has with Wilson. I can't see them signing Bert to keep Mantha scratched, especially when they'll need cap space next year to extend Sandin+Wilson. Banishing McMichael to the 4th line when Protas fits it much better seems like a mistake, swapping the two makes much more sense for the team.

I think CBJ fans may be losing it seeing the sheer number of Kuzy to CBJ trades, and I can't see a world where they'd accept this one. The team is still a couple years out from truly contending and by then, Kuzy will be a free agent, so I think they'd be much happier keeping their young talent and continuing to develop Sillinger, Johnson and whoever they draft this year.
