miller def needs more than that and you have no cap room for injuries. Id say pay miller 4m, give zac jones 850k, dont sign gavrikov and have around 2m for scratches

I don't hate this, but the Rangers aren't signing Gavrikov. Jones, Hajek, Robertson, or Harpur will be given that spot. Also like someone said you need cap space for scratches. I also think an important part of building a team around Igor is having a capable backup so you don't have to play him 70 games a year. Don't know if Rittich really fits that mold. Also maybe Lafreniere can adjust to playing the right side, but he definitely had a tough time with it this year.

@genothegoat: can't sign Jones for 850K. RFA rules state minimum offer for player has to be at least a 5% raise - so minimum for Jones would be $971,250

Miller will get deal similar to Lindgren (3yrs @ 3mil). Spot on with LAF - same deal as Kakko.
Othmann will need to have an extremely impressive camp - honestly would be better if he gets 1 year of AHL under his belt. Cuylie will make the team.
not signing Gavrikov for 4mil a year to be 3rd pair D. Not re-signing Motte - luxury the team can't afford. Team still doesn't have enough scoring from the right side. So will look into salary dump trade of Goodrow and take that money and hopefully strike some gold finding a decent 2 way RW
