Description

- Mostly taking care of business and grinding RFAs without arb rights.
- Hopefully Ryan signs a vet minimum 1 year with +35 bonus upside.
- Connor brown is a placeholder free agent that can move up and down the lineup based on injuries but should slot in the bottom 6.
- Offloading RFAs who are fine, but overpaid for what they bring when internal, cheaper solutions can come in a produce similar (holloway and lavoie)
- If healthy, and if salary works since he's already made a ton, toews is vet with cup and captainship pedigree that helps open up options for when you load up 97 and 29.

bouchard was literally the best defenseman in the playoffs while they were still in. Do you think he stays that cheap?

i agree he was the best D and i would love to be able to afford him long term but in the short term they can't afford it. He is an RFA with 4 years to UFA an no arb rights at this time. a 2 year bridge is likely but he may prefer 3 years to get him closer to free agency and cash in again then. This AAV is the number the local media (bob stauffer) who is typically in the know is saying. heck he's an oilers employee so that was the basis for my number.
