Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2023
Published: May 22, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just over 8 mil comes off the books at the end of next season which should be enough to sign Matthews and Nylander when you add in the cap increase. Brown is signed in case you need to flex him further up the left side to cover defensively for either Tavares or Bunting.

Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Couturier, Sean
  2. Konecny, Travis
  3. 2023 1st round pick (PHI)
Additional Details:
Philadelphia get the best right winger in the NHL for a center coming off neck surgery, a good winger and the 7th overall pick in this years draft. Marner will alleviate the pressure on the kids a lot more thean the former two will and should help Frost take the next step forward.
PHI
  1. Marner, Mitchell
Additional Details:
Toronto trades the All NHL 1st Team RW for the last two years to diversify up front and re-stock at the draft table. Coulturier is a bit of a risk but his recovery looks good at the contract wows in the middle before diving a bit at the end. Konecny gives the team more sandpaper than can score.
2.
TOR
  1. Andersson, Rasmus
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (CGY)
  3. 2023 4th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Calgary wants to be more offensive? Rielly's PPG in order over the last six seasons: .63, .83, .64, .57, .88, .68. It's what he does. Both Kral and Abruzzesee can play for the Flames next season. They are ready and are good enough to do so.
CGY
  1. Abruzzese, Nick
  2. Král, Filip
  3. Rielly, Morgan
Additional Details:
Moving on from Rielly will not be easy, but it is a necessary step. In the righty Andersson the Leafs are getting more of a two way defenseman who automatically becomes their new blueline anchor.
3.
TOR
  1. Dillon, Brenden ($1,900,000 retained)
  2. 2023 5th round pick (WPG)
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
It is highly likely that there will be major movement in the off-season in Winnipeg with Wheeler and Scheiffle probably finding new homes. They get a pair of younger forwards who can slot in for them with offensive tools for a discounted Dillon and a pair of picks, one in 2025.
WPG
  1. Järnkrok, Calle
  2. Robertson, Nicholas
Additional Details:
Toronto needs a bit more beef and defense in one body on the left and get it in Dillon. The price? Two forwards that would slot into the bottom six for the Leafs but higher in the rotation for someone else.

I don’t even know why coots is in the conversation. The flyers don’t even do that trade for TK and the 7OA. They also don’t do coots and 7OA for marner. The flyers do no have a use for marner other than a flip. No use. At all. Idk why TML fans keep trying to trade him to Philly. If you wanna cook up some three way deal where the flyers flip marner… sure, I’ll listen. But marner has no interest on playing for a rebuild and the rebuilding teams have no use for a player like marner. He’s good, we get it. He will walk into ufa. He’s useless to us. Please stop. This thread is ridiculous.

Don’t even bother it’s like talking to a wall. He thinks he knows everything about every Flyers player when he didn’t even know what injury Coots had and can’t even spell “Coulturier”’s name right lol. No matter how many people say it’s bad or it won’t happen these people think they are smarter than everyone and know what’s best it isn’t worth it to debate
