Next year with Goodrow buyout

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2023-24 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: May 24, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Goodrow is a great player. His buyout is -200k cap hit year one, -100k year 2 and only +1.15m year 3. It goes up for year 4 though. He is a very good player but it's hard to fill out the roster unless someone goes. In this AGM i chose him.

As a Leafs fan I would jump all over Goodrow if he did become a ufa.

Thoughts? I think this team looks quite good. I know most fans pencil in Othmann but his OHL stats from this year don't even come close to justifying him playing in the NHL next year. Give him AT LEAST one AHL year.

Did I miss anything?

Would much more prefer this team than sell everything to keep a Kane or Vlady. I would even argue that one of Foglino or Hathaway would be enough. But that is just personal preference.

I like the different approach and think most of this is more realistic. You did keep Vesey out of the line-up, whom I would imagine would play somewhere in the bottom six. I would also like to see maybe 1-2 of those bottom six positions filled by some players from Hartford. Maybe Cuylee and Brodzinski??

Yes it would depend if one or 2 of their forward prospects are ready.

I can see a scenario where Kane takes a big discount though. In that case you take him as well.

I am a Leafs fan. I am not very high on Vesey. I opted for more physical guys and really a really good defender in ZAR in the bottom 6. I know Vesey had a solid year this year, but I am still not sold.

And fair on the AHL guys. I don't know New Yorks depth AHL guys too much!
