Description

I'm not really making this as a serious proposal, I kinda want to see if it's close and kinda want to just have it as a thing.

Kochetkov is clearly our guy moving forward, but you can't just put the fate of the team on the kid without much help. Then, getting Patches and Svech back will be huge for our offense, but we probably still need more.

With Briere clearly going all in on the rebuild for Philly, I feel like we can address both at once with a trade for Hart and Konecny. Then the Backlund trade is just to shore up the center rotation. Backlund has only one year left on his deal, so convincing him to waive the NTC if necessary shouldn't be too hard. That is, unless he wants to be a career Flame which is totally understandable.

Backlund half retained for a 2nd, maybe add a 3rd if need be, but anymore than that is a bit much. As for the Flyers trade, they will want a bit more than that. But like the ideas. And as much as I love Patches, the most I see him getting from any team is 3mil, and I imagine the Canes will try to bring his cap hit down even lower.

Love the Incredibles reference though.

Maybe an overpay slightly? (Let's call it 3 2nds of value) but depending if this was a deadline deal, I wouldn't be shocked if Backlund can pull some surprising value at half retention.

Yeah, that's fair. Would it be good enough for a guy like Tippett? As you can see I'm not great at sussing out the value of Flyers players. The guys on the Flyers I can see as adding the value the Canes need are TK, Tippett, Farabee, and Laughton. What would you say is fair value for any one of those guys?

As far as Patches goes, the Canes have one year left where they can pay guys any kind of real money. The list of 2024 free agents is a horror show. I based my number off of Jordo's number, thinking that a guy coming off of a $7M contract would fetch a bit more than Jordo would.

As for Farabee and Tippett I don’t know how willing the Flyers are to trade them as they still are somewhat younger so it would probably take a decent amount. Farabee would probably cost less than Tippett I would think purely because of his contract
