Yeah this analysis is just stupid. Instead of trading for McDavid, I believe we can just draft the next one! Good luck drafting a goalie right now that probably won’t even hit Harts level in 5-6 years lol. Everyone wants flyers players, nobody wants to play the flyers fair value for them.

Hart could be a great goalie. I bet he puts up excellent numbers in Colorado or Carolina. But in SJ, PHI or MTL he is going to continue to be average or worse.

Rebuilding teams are best to draft a promising goalie like Hrabal or Bjarnason. Develop them and by the time we are competitive, we have a good goalie ready to go on a team friendly deal!

Thanks for sharing your perspective that likens Hart to McDavid. I think you are illuminating that you feel he is a McDavid of Goalies and I do not. I understand, based on how you feel, that this might tick you off.

Try and keep in context that I am not arguing this gets the deal done, but that this is what I would be willing to pay and why. I think you've seen that I AM willing to pay a lot for Tippet for example from numerous conversations we've had.
