Give up Marner and Matthews for two players you've zero chance in hell of resigning long term. Neither PLD or Hellebuyck are signing long term with Toronto. PLD either goes home to Montreal or possibly New York if Drury can make the cap work. And Hellebuyck already said that he won't sign long term in Canada. It's the States only.

When/where did Helle say he wouldn't sign in Canada? I see it all over on CF threads and I believe it but somehow missed that in the media

Friedman and LeBrun mentioned it a couple days ago, Supposedly Hellebuyck himself said that he has no desire to play long term in Canada.

Pittsburgh is the oldest team in the league and trending down, I don't see either Hellebuyck or Scheifele saving that team. And i seriously doubt that either would commit long term on a team whose window is closing rapidly.

Yeah no in that case they would be strictly rentals and I also doubt that would put them over the top although I love the idea of stocking up on future Pitty 1sts maybe throw in Pickering 😅
