I think Seattle likely sticks with Wright. Go with the center.

Agreed. I think Wright will take a noticeable step forward in a more stable environment this year. Plus Lafreniere still has potential, but his production to this point is equivalent to a bunch of forwards Seattle has on the roster already. Lafreniere wouldn't have a bigger role here than he has had with the Rangers. With other needs elsewhere on the roster, I don't really see the Kraken making a play for him.

100% agreed. I think you and I agree that it may (likely) be a quiet off-season for Seattle, but is there a player out there you'd like and/or could see Francis making a play for this summer? Trade or UFA

I'm not a huge fan of the UFA class this year, I feel like many of them will get overpaid and signing them to a big deal will affect moves Seattle can make down the line. I would like to see the Kraken bring in a LD though, if nothing else a stopgap to help fill Soucy's shoes until Evans is NHL-ready. Someone like Forbort or Edmundson might work, they're solid defensively and wouldn't cost much if anything in a trade.

If the Kraken were to try and make a big swing and cash in some future assets, I think another top-four defenseman or point-per-game forward in their prime would be smart targets, someone who would make an impact for multiple seasons. Obviously a lot would depend on trade cost but for the back end Hanifin would be a nice target, although a move like that would probably only work with an extension included. Up front perhaps one of DeBrincat or Marner would be worth exploring a deal for. I think any of those players would fit with Seattle's roster and elevate the team. There's probably some other players worth pursuing too, I would just need to do some research on them first and see whether they would be good fits for the team. Honestly though I think the bigger moves would be best saved for after next season when the Kraken have a bit more flexibility.
