Lou has been quite aggressive by getting Romanov and Horvat. I can see him being aggressive one more time and getting one more star forward. They should use that Engvall money + Bailey money to get another star. I like Engvall but they need another star. This team is close to being very dangerous.

Clifton should not get that much but I agree it's probably worth tempering expectations. His "adds" towards the 23-24 team were addressed at the deadline in Horvat and Engvall (still needs to keep him but I think it gets done.

Shedding Bailey would be enough to sign back most/all our free agents. I'd be ok with letting Mayfield walk. My hope is Lou can address the entire 3rd pair and make Aho the 7th D. Maybe sign a bigger d-man like Soucy to replace Mayfield and add a young d-man via trade again similar to Romanov. The guy who sticks out to me is Adam Boqvist

That Engvall-Nelson-Palmieri line was legitimately one of the best play driving lines in all of hockey last season when they were put together. Engvall's length and speed is a very unique combo. I'd like to keep him

You can address another scorer if Lou is ok moving on from Pageau. I really like him/Horvat dominating the faceoff dot, but with Barzal currently on RW you *could* trade JGP and move Barzal back to C. Taylor Hall is a realistic target if the Isles can flip Boston the picks they'd get for Pageau. The B's will need to get under the cap

Ya Engvall-Kampf-Mikheyev from 2 years ago was very solid. Engvall was very good this year as well for the Leafs. Was hoping the Leafs would keep him and trade Kerfoot (solely for cap reasons). Such is life.

In a perfect world you resign Engvall and trade or sign a star forward. Cap wise I can see Konecny being a possibility as well.
