Canes need a legit 3rd line

Description
Maybe the game breaking scorer edzo and jonesy speak of isn’t exactly what the canes need… maybe it’s just a 3rd line that can take some pressure off of Aho and Svechnikov. With no tkachuk or eichel like players available, I see something along the lines of this being the Hurricanes most likely off-season

JGP does nothing for the Canes. There is a reason the Islanders take that poor trade and we need to stay away

I know not to take you saying my trades arent enough seriously after seeing that Crouse post. Zona doesn’t even call us back. Our late pick wont carry much value and neither will Drury or Rizzo. We will need to force Zona to make that trade, they don’t have cap issue.

That brown deal is awful. The dude is coming off ACL surgery. 1 year, sure. Not 3 at that AAV

The Brown deal is straight from Frank Seravalli's article, sorry bud. If you wanna give him a 1-year deal, sure. He's the perfect replacement for Jesper Fast. Can kill penalties and has shown the ability to score 20 goals in a year. Oh and he led the league in shorthanded goals in 2021-22.

And how is #30 overall, a middle 6 young forward, and an elite college player not enough for a 25 year old winger with a career high of 45 points??? Where am I missing the elite value of Lawson Crouse? If you really want to add more, throw in whatever picks or prospects not named Nikishin that make it happen I guess, but I really don't see why.

Pageau just scored 23 goals? The entire 3rd line of martinook-staal-fast scored 40 this year... I don't see how adding a right shot center who can score some goals to your 3rd line doesn't make sense...

Svechnikov is coming off ACL surgery too. Better buy him out because he definitely isn't worth 6 x 7.75. Damn. What an unfortunate situation.

Rizzo isn’t highly regarded. Not that you would understand but its more than points here. Zona has no reason to trade him and he hasn’t played with quality linemates. Drury isn’t a middle six player either. He is a bottom 6 player, more like a 4th liner.

If we are paying brown 3 x 3.7, we’ll keep Fast at 3 x 2.5. Less money and we don’t need to worry about an ACL.

JGP scores 13 goals not 23. In fact he has only scored 20 or more 1 time in his career, 19-20. He was on pace in 20-21. He isn’t worth it
