Maybe the team just sucks and Gibson is actually still really good? I don’t think he forgot how to play and he isn’t THAT old….

That's totally fair. If you think he is based on observations but something hasn't clicked, I get that. I had the same opinion of Tage Thompson a few years ago.

My problem would be the return. Gibson and Comtois may need changes of scenery to be better, but the return would be somewhere between thinking they won't and hoping they will. To me that would be a 2nd and a 3rd. Maybe a B prospect too. Both guys may become better in a new place but as they are, they are not worth a 1st combined.

Don't get me wrong I like Gibson and think he is great, but he hasn't played great in 5 years.

Of course they try and get the best deal! I would offer that to start but I would still likely pay this price and I think this is what Anaheim would be asking for. Maybe I’m wrong and they take less and then absolutely the pens take that!
