I'm really not sure that Hanifin and Vladar are the right pieces for Buffalo, to give up this many futures like this. Left side of the D is just fine with Dahlin, Power and Samuelsson, and I think the Sabres would rather acquire a more defensive minded defenceman. Vladar would be OK, but they might as well just tandem Luukkonen and Levi instead. Vladar won't be a Patrick Roy for them.

Just my thought, but too much to give up for Buffalo, for assets that don't fit what they need.

Even if Hanifin was a fit for the Sabres, they aren't giving up all 3 picks in the 1st 2 rounds of the draft. Also Hanifin would need to come with an extension, they have not shown a willingness to trade for pending UFA's which would mean the picks wouldn't be in 2023 anyway.
