Canes v2 - unrealistic but bored

Description
Will start by saying this is unrealistic with the amount and scope of these moves, but I'm bored.

Cat - have seen a couple of Sens fans suggest this trade and said they'd be happy with it, regardless of a Turbo extension. Signed Cat to a matching Svech deal but maybe it goes higher towards 8-8.5M. Shouldn't be a problem to fit that in by tweaking rest of roster.

Stars / Skjei deal - not sure if they're looking for an LD but have seen/heard rumors about them trying to upgrade from Suter so figured this could be a decent fit. Not sure if the value is right there so open to suggestions on both team and value there. I think Pesce ultimately extends in CAR for 4x6.5 or something around there and they end up moving Skjei instead. Soucy is a good replacement in my mind - brings some size/grit but can also skate and move the puck decently well for a big guy. Can play PK as well and should be able to fit nicely w/ Pesce. Also gives some time for Nikishin to come over and get used to the NHL if needed.

I saw the Hall deal elsewhere - not sure about this since there's 2 years left but figured he can be had for very little to help w/ Boston cap space. Not sold on this but saw it elsewhere and thought it could be intriguing, but not opposed to doing something differently there.

Lindholm - interesting situation there. Seems like Canes kicked tires last season and also sounds like CGY will move him (and others) if they don't commit to extending this summer. Not sure what Flames would be looking for in a deal there so feel free to give suggestions on value - figured those assets can be used in another deal to bring in top 6 help for them. Could see the Flames asking for Necas as a part of that deal too but avoided that in this situation.

Bunting - haven't heard much on him so far this offseason so not sure if there are rumors on where he's likely going or for how much. Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of his reputation but he does play w/ an edge and has scoring touch which could work nicely if RBA can harness his energy and get him to take out the dumb penalties and embellishment. Thought this was a better idea than overpaying for Bert or Barby.

OEL - Canes have taken chances on these types of players in the past and has worked out well. Give him a shot in a sheltered 3rd pair role with strong structure and a partner with good footspeed to back him up and let him run PP2. Probably need to get a solid 7/8D option in place in case this doesn't work out but a worthwhile experiment in my eyes.

Interesting. Saw multiple posts / comments on Sens boards saying that wouldn’t be the case. Probably other ways to get that deal done if not.

tuevo will be 30 when his last contract start and he will want 7M+ for 7-8 years, that is a big no no for OTT thus they have no interest in him in any way

I’d love an 8x8 for myself but nobody is giving me that contract haha. Turbo can ask for that all he wants but I don’t think anybody in the league is giving him 8x7 or anything close to that. I get not wanting to extend him to 4x5 either but at least that’s likely what he’d get.

B’s say no. They have more options to create space, if all they can get for Hall is next years 4th they’ll keep him

Fair enough. Saw it somewhere else and thought it was interesting. Canes can use that cap space elsewhere if not.
