Let's see what happens this year. The Habs are planning to give him the year to find out

I would even throw in another asset to make it happen. Bouchard is a stud.

This could be a good deal for the Oilers as well. His numbers are inflated because of who he plays with. I'm not unaware of that.

Plus the Oilers need more balance in their lineup which they need cap flexibility to pull off.

Oilers aren’t going to move Bouchard unless contract talks go way south and be demands $9m+.. when they moved Barrie at the deadline Bouchard instantly became the teams power play QB and his production took off. & playing him with Ekholm helped his 5v5 game too. He won’t be moved, they’ll make the cap room for him.

Lol.

Faceoffs are such an arbitrary stat and not a good way to judge if a guy is a centreman or not. There’s so much more to a centres game than just a faceoff percentage.

38% is one of the worst ive seen in years. he needs to get better or become a RW. faceoffs are a huge part of beign a center tho!

He is very good on transitions though. He's young and just finding his confidence. I am predicting a breakout season, but still a 45% faceoff percentage.

Isn't Jack Hughes an example of how little faceoffs matter?

hughes is a 100 pts star. dach has a 60-70 pts ceiling imo so he needs to add value to his game. being able to win defensive draws is huge for a second line C. habs should hire plekanec-bergeron or have him come trough during the season to pratice with the young guns. they could even give glendenning 1.5M for 1 year. have him coach dach. hes a strong two way RH center. hed be perfect for the 4th line and he will fight if needed.

A faceoff win is an arbitrary stat. Dach could tie up Bergeron but Marchand is the first to the puck and that goes down as a loss for Dach because of the winger. You can’t judge a guy based on faceoff percentage alone.

it doesnt mean hes a bad center all around but its a huge part of being a center and they are working on it for sure. so saying it isnt a big deal simply isnt accurate. i wouldnt be suprised if he becomes a full time

🤦🏻‍♂️ kids like you these days don’t know how to read..

I never said it wasn’t a weakness. Like I actually said though, a faceoff win percentage doesn’t determine how good a player is a centre because it’s not always him that wins for for his team and a “win” is an arbitrary stat, could be seen as different by each person. & if you’re judging a player on whether he’s good at centre solely based on his faceoff win percentage then you don’t know hockey at all.

By your logic Tim Stutzle is a bum centreman and Mike McCarron is an all-star. Great work!

I saw a potentially interesting plan last week that had the Habs doing an offer sheet for Bouchard. Certainly got me thinking.

Offer Sheet is not happening IMO. It's a war where nobody wins.

Ha, I said it was interesting. Offer sheets are never likely.
