Flyers are retaining on TK, they will already have to retain Hayes and TDA so they will probably leave the 3rd spot open just in case. This value is fine for TK but there won’t be retention

As for the retention. other then those 3 players I don't really see a need to have a retention slot open for TDL unless Flyers acquire a 1 year term UFA this offseason. TDA slot would be freed up for next year. Comes down to the Oilers need retention or trade likely impossible.

If you ask the flyers to take away their last retention slot and ask the flyers to make TK a $2.75M player ur gonna have to overpay for him. That in my mind starts with Holloway or Broberg and 2023 1st and adds from there. Nobody is going to just hand you a $2.75M player that scores at a PPG you have to pay up for that

Nothing in my comment was about value or 50% retention, just that the Oilers needed some retention for a trade to be possible. Even the OP didn't even ask for 50% retention. Also Broberg has rumoured to be tradeable recently for top 6 or top 4 help.
