Doubt Suter is waiving. Why would SEA accept that offer?

This seems reasonable enough. Especially considering how Suter played in the playoffs. This team will reach playoffs as long as Driedger isn’t too much below average

Suter might very well wave considering he isn’t all to popular in Dallas anymore after his bad playoff performance. Most guys tend to not have anything against joining Pittsburgh to play with Crosby and company so that surely helps.

Regarding the Seattle trade I do think they accept. Driedger was in the ahl and they would for sure want to get rid off him. Geekie might be good but the coach doesn’t value him too much and he’s been spending a lot of time in the 3rd and 4th line with limited ice time and no special teams. So I think it’s a trade both teams like

So you think Suter deliberately got a NMC in his contract so he can waive it if and when he gets unpopular?

O'Connor is a 25 year old 4th liner with 78 games played and 17 points in his NHL career. Geekie is 24 and has played 180 games with 63 points. Surely you would understand that NHL GMs will universally view Geekie as a much more useful player.
