Personally I think Hart is a better option then Helle. Yes as of rn Helle is the better tender but his next contract he will be looking for a contract in the 9.5 range. Hart isn’t as proven but is a good goaltender who put up good numbers infront of a feeder Philadelphia team. At his current caphit this gives room for NJ to go out and get a good rental at deadline to fill a hole of theirs or just for that extra depth. He’s also an RFA after season ends and will be signed to a much more cap friendly deal making him a lot more controlled next deadline. Yes it looks like a high price point but you’re paying for Harts ceiling and dumping Vanecek in the same trade so it’s a long term goaltending option without really affecting the current roster.
