No thanks to giving us cap trouble. No idea what kind of goalie Lehner is anymore. Rather run with Schmid.

He is LTIR eligible, so it would not count against the cap. It's a risk, but New Jersey basically takes him for free here.

They’re going UFA route unfortunately.

Or take zero risk and run with what we've got...the upside is waaaay smaller than the risk.

As a team like Vegas should know with Adin Hill, goaltending can be voodoo, but cap troubles can mess you up.
