It won't. I'm pretty sure it's just not going to happen.

That's also not enough. You're sending almost 12M in Cap, asking them to retain $2.5M all for a 1st and 3rd.

I think Dubas moves on and looks to move Granlund/Rutta

With karlsson having an nmc and yet another small cap increase there’s zero chance this plays out in a typical sense. Sharks will have to take salary back no matter what at least this is off the books in 2 years for the most part instead of 4 and they get a first and 3 rd back.

I think teams may have to think of things like nba teams seem to do. You take back salary equalizers with shorter term and then get your assets with it.

Oh I don't disagree that salary has to go back, that's no question. Problem is to me unless the pens can get EK at a $6M cap hit, it's not worth it and as it's been rumored a third party would be involved if this trade were to happen.

The pens would need to move Rutta/Petry/Granlund and get EK at $6M AAV, maybe 7 for it to be worth it. If not the bottom six is left busted.

Ya I’d rather improve depth. With letang there I don’t see a need for karlsson. It’ll likely play out like it did with burns which wasn’t great. Dubas however loves to have names

Yeah he apparently wanted him in Toronto.

Pettersson and Petry played really well together, and pairing Graves with Letang, think that's a great top 4. Letang will have a bounce back season. I know they're all pro athletes but that dude is one of the top players when it comes to being in shape, he'll be fine.

I'd much rather work on moving Ruttta/Granland/Desmith. That'd put the pens at about $8M in cap space.

I think Dubas is waiting to see what trades play out, there were plenty of various trade rumors across the league and there has been none lol. Think there is a lot left to unfold in FA.
