This makes a ton of sense, clutterbuck and Kule as 13-14 forwards totaling 7 plus million lol

Kulemin would be traded as well I didn't build out the entire team

This is kinda the model I'd have in place for whoever our C2 is this year. The guy comes in on a contract that would still make sense from a C3 standpoint, and have that guy step down to C3, but still remain on the team, when Barzal starts getting top 6 worthy.

Spooner would be one of the best case scenarios for this strategy. He can either move down to C2 or the wings when Barzal moves up. Gagner would be a damn good option too, as he can also play the wings

An alternative would be to sign a C2 on the verge of retirement, then have Barzal move up when he hangs up the skates. Thornton would be a possibility, though Bonino would be more likely.

OP didn't sign them to those contracts. I'd imagine that Garth is trying to deal Kulemin to a PK struggling team, and most NYI fans on this site agree.

Yeah, Clutter's contract is bad, but again, OP didn't sign him to that.
