Guentzel, Pavelski, Montour, and Hagel are weird choices when you have ELCs to play with. I'd even argue Sorokin should be replaced with Gustavsson.

I didn't say all four were worse, but you can make upgrades. Replacing Pavelski with Beniers would let you replace Guentzel with Hughes or Robertson.

The difference between Hughes/Robertson and Guentzel is orders of magnitude larger than the difference between Beniers and Pavelski

Sorokin had the greatest GSAx season since the stat began tracking.... hes easily the choice regardless

MoneyPuck had him 3rd for GSAx and 4th for GSAx/60. They had Gus 7th and 5th.

The 3m difference can be used to turn Montour into Dahlin or Guentzel into Hughes or Robertson

not sure why you're trying to replace guentzel when hes one of the best LWs in the league at 6M

This reeks of homerism to me. He wasn't even a point per game! That's not to say points are everything, but how is Robertson not a better use of cap space?

evolving hockey is a far better model. Factors in more variables. Does everything moneypuck does and more. Its just that it costs money per month so less people use it wink

Gus is great, he aint close to sorokin

Two proprietary models--models that have access to private data that the teams have access to--ranked Gus above Sorokin. They were absolutely close enough this year that the cap hit matters

Jack Hughes is also one of the highest iq players in the game, scored 25 more points than Guentzel, and has elite defensive impact
