Toronto:
- Receives a cheap rental and a locker room leader in Foligno
- Clears cap space to get closer to the ceiling
- Gets a prospect and a pick to level the trade value

Minnesota:
- Gets a developing RD for the second line
- Gets two affordable players while dealing with the cap hell
- Has enough space in 2024 to extend Liljegren

Leafs pass. They aren't going to move two decent value contracts just to add Foligno and a fringe prospect to still have to make a move to get cap compliant. Now if the wild took on Murray's contract, the leafs likely would strongly consider

Minnesota cannot afford to add ANY cap space. They couldn't do this trade and certainly couldn't and wouldn't take on a cap dump like Murray...

So the two teams don't match up.
