Team: 2023-24 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Karlsson won’t return the value Grier wants, but with his trade demand and him not wanting to be here we take what we can get and this seems as reasonable as I could expect.

Now onto sharks biggest need, with Swayman set as the future for Boston, would they be willing to move Bussi for a close to NHL ready C prospect, would start the offer with Robins and another prospect but Bordeleau seems more logical. Plus with Smith Yager and Bystedt the sharks could easily afford to let Bordeleau go.

Thoughts on the values and if I need to add either way.
Trades
1.
SJS
  1. Granlund, Mikael
  2. Yager, Brayden [Reserve List]
  3. 2024 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
This is the best I think we get.
PIT
  1. Karlsson, Erik ($3,500,000 retained)
2.
BOS
  1. Bordeleau, Thomas
Additional Details:
Love Bordeleau l, but with Smith, Yager, and Bystedt coupled with Couture, Hertl, & Smith at the NHL level sharks can afford to trade a C for a potential NHL starter.
3.
SJS
Waiver pickup towards end of camp.

I like Bussi, but I also think Boston does well with finding/developing goaltenders. They should make this trade. Well done!

That was my thought! Boston has a knack for finding stud betminders either through the draft or Europeans FA or in NHL’s FA, and a backup netminder shouldn’t be more valued than a top 9 C, unless Boston is looking to move Swayman and make Bussi the Heir

Hey Rob, what's up? I have a ? I didn't get the AHL package last year, just certain games, on the daily package. Depending on how much my cable goes up, I may get the AHL package again for ROC Amerks and Cuda, I've had it before but prefer NHL. Even though I'm optimistic about the Sharks being better, I don't know if it's enough for the NHL package this year? As for the Cuda, they made a late run as usual last year, missed out on tiebreaker, but what do you think of their chances to make the Playoffs? Eklund should be on the Sharks, and I know Bords and Gushchin are there, also Raska and Coe and Robins. Who are some Fs I should be looking at, besides those 5? They have some nice D prospects and hopefully someone in the organization steps up in net, Sharks and Cuda.

Sharks are going to be bad… very bad! But this is the bottom and the prospect pool is top 10 and a lot of those guys will be in the AHL.
In net this is Chrona and Makiniemi year to shine and at least 1 of them will likely step up.
D Mukhamadulin and Laroque will be the stars, but guys like Puli Okhotiyuk Guryev etc will add sound D. Plus the logjam at D means at least 2-3 NHL caliber D will be in the Cuda.
And the forwards will be deeper because of the same log jam, Coe is a beast and last year was underwhelming this year should be a jump. Same with Weisblatt. Gushin, Robins, and Bordeleau.
IMO the Cuda will be fast tough and fun to watch and will make the playoffs,
Sharks will be god awful and likely get the best chance at Celebrini.
While that sounds bad the plus is potential 3 1sts and 4 in the top 40 with 1 in the top 3. Add that to a top 10 pool and 30+ mil in cap space means the sharks are looking at finally starting the rebuild part of the “rebuild” process.
I am planning on seeing multiple Cuda games this year!

I forget Bystedt, he should be fun to watch. That’s cool about going to see the Cuda, did you get to go to their new arena yet and if so, how is it?

A really fun little barn. I highly recommend it!
I Left Bystedt and Havelid off because I’m not sure if they will be with the AHL or go back to Europe, Same with Musty as I assume he’s back in the Juniors next season.

Cool. As for Musty, yeah, I don't know if he's old enough for the AHL?

Yea I don’t know his junior deal or the restrictions but he was a bit of a project so I don’t expect him to be fighting for an NHL spot till 25/26
