I highly doubt Toronto is willing to retain $3M on a contract for 6 years when they are already retaining $1.2M for 7 years.

I think a more likely scenario is trying to move Dion at the deadline when a playoff team is desperate for a D due to underperforming or injuries

Storm, interesting that you suggest that Bruins have a bad defence. Then deals are made with other teams that have bad defences too.....Pens, Leafs and Flyers. Actually the Bruins defence is OK if there aren't injuries. The Bruins pay 28m on 4 players.....a lot for a non playoff team. Looks like a lotta teams are hoping their low priced rookies can make the team to offset some bad high priced signings of veterans
