So does the Lauzon trade.

Trenin's already on a team friendly deal. He's not going to take a pay cut in free agency, when teams are willing to hand out monster contracts to lesser players like Engvall.

Barrie will be gone, or if he is back, won't be for that much.
Novak deal seems plausible.

Scheif deal makes no sense in my eyes. Sure he'll get paid, but I don't want Nashville to be the ones that do... likely because...

Fabbro, Tomasino and Parssinen will be getting paid more than that. Wouldn't surprise me for Trotz to try to lock them up for longer term. The trend lately it seems is to give the up and comers term and hope that their cap hit in 2 years becomes a steal of a deal.

Ehhh big stretch. Trenin is more physical but Engvall is a defensive monster. Good for 30+ points too and good in all zones. Trenin is fine in his own end but he’s definitely of the lesser between him and Engvall.

That Lauzon trade is bad. We could probably squeeze a 4th or maybe a 3rd for him.

If that’s an opinion, sure. But the metrics don’t lie. Engvall is better.

I've always felt Engvall's effort was lacking, and I don't think I've ever watched one of his games where he didn't make a bad giveaway or boneheaded mistake.

I was surprised to look up his advanced stats. They're more solid than I would have guessed.

I'd still keep him stapled to the bench if the game was on the line though.
