They're still young so it's kinda excusable

They were a bottom 5 team last season. This team isn’t any better…

Where to start.....

1. Dach has to prove he can play the middle consistently. His numbers last season were playing with Suzuki on the right side.

2. Where is Kovacevic? He was so damn effective last season he has earned a spot..... especially over Barron imo.

3. Dvorak is the 3C. Overpaid yes. But he is one of the better ones in the game. If he is in the wing, it's in top 6 as a defensive conscience.

4. Health has been a major factor in Montréal.for 3-4 years running. With Monahan and Gallagher I don't see that changing much.

5. Harvey-Pinard is a spark plug. Where is he?

6. Goaltending.

7. Toronto, Buffalo, Ottawa, Florida (even with the injuries), and Tampa are just BETTER. Not overly bullish on Detroit, but I think they are better too. Boston is at least a 500 hockey team even with all the departures...... where does this leave the Habs?

Montréal window is 2 years away. When it opens look out. They have depth, and good depth at that at every position except goal.

Thinking they win this season is very premature.

So first i should call up Kovacevic and play him over Barron, but does that mean I should put Barron in the AHL?

Then, who goes if RHP gets called up?

Should I put Dach on the wing and Monahan as a center in the top 6 to put Dvorak at the center position?

Goaltending is a minor problem but it hasn’t stopped some of the teams you named above from competing.

Finally, although you are absolutely correct about the injuries, I think we’ll start improving as it’s hard to do worse than the past 2 years.
