Why would Pittsburgh give Niemi a 2 million dollar deal when they are paying a goalie who is 12 years younger 3.75 Mil?

i meant to give him a 1 year deal not 2 cuz jarry will likely be the backup next season

Still I think 2 mil is over pay for Niemi. If Murray stays healthy, Niemi would maybe get 15-20 games in the season. I think Jarry should be the back up. We have Maguire as the AHL started and gustavsson as his back up, and we should be good for a long time.

I agree jarry should be back up but they said they want a vet this season and niemi has been linked to us recently
