Nah I didn’t really like him tbh, he was not exactly the best captain and he was a bit of a liability for the Jets for the last 2 years

He was great for a long time though, I mean those powerplay cross seam passes were a thing of beauty, and few did them better than Wheeler in the Laine years 🙂

Yeah I do miss that 2018 playoff team, and I did like Wheeler for a while and still do to some extent but I don’t really think much of him compared to other players. I always liked Laine, Scheifele, Ehlers, Connor and PLD more tbh, just personal preferences

Yeah I understand you. The 2018 run was an incredibly fun watch indeed, and Scheifeles playoffs that year is grossly underrated imo.
I mean I like PLD just fine, but I would really have liked to see Laine thrive in Winnipeg, but Laines stint with the team came to a rather unfortunate end.

If Laine never left, he’d probably be my favourite player on the Jets other than Hellebuyck, and probably my second favourite forward in the league behind only Mangiapane. I actually forgot about him while making this list, so I just added him lol
