In the worst case Dach will end up on the same level as Dubois and Montreal is not in a hurry to have Dubois. If he wants to come he will come eventually.</div></div>
The worst case scenario is of course not that Dach will be "just" as good as Dubois, that's just silly.

You noticed that there was a first going the other way aswell, and that Hoffmans great contract was in there, or are you reading selectively?

PLD is a Hab
I agree with previous posters, it's preposterous to think Winnipeg would take on Hoffman in that deal, I mean either add more of real value or remove him from the proposal.

The Bruins one maybe doesn't need that much tweaking though, seeing as their center depth most likely'll be depleted.

Thoughts
Well this isn't a really good idea for the Jets.
Connor has 3 years left and Nylander is 1 year from UFA and would most likely demand more than Connors 7.15 per if he resigned.
Brodie is a soon to be UFA aswell with a cap hit that isn't very tempting, plus he is 33 years old, so it doesn't seem like they'd be looking towards the future at all on this one.

Jets Summer Retool
Regardless of wether or not the other teams would agree to these trades, I don't think it's in the Jets interest to replace Scheifele/Dubois/Hellebuyck with Byfield/Frederic/Swayman.
I would hope that there are better options to explore out there, I mean if you have Perfetti as the #1 centre at his stage of his development, you probably won't be very competitive. In a rebuild situation sure, but this was a retool if I'm not mistaken.

Leafs trade matthews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newballcoach</b></div><div>I would be absolutely shocked if the Leafs traded Matthews. Unless he pulls a Tkachuk and says I'm 100% gone, they're not going to move him.
That being said, if the situation is similar and he comes with an extension negotiated (which is the only likely result at this point) LA is likely giving up this and maybe more. And they'd still win the trade.</div></div>
Isn't the goal for the Kings, as for any other team, to build a well rounded team?
I mean, it would be kind of counter productive imo to get rid of a likely bright future in Byfield/Clarke, and top it off with one of their top forwards aswell in Fiala.
And you're saying that the Kings still would win the trade even if they added more on top, I seriously doubt it.

Chevaldayoff would win GM of the decade if he got the Rangers trade (and the rest of these) to go through.
And the Arizona one, I mean if you can get a first line center for Schmidt and Stanley, you're pretty much omnipotent.

The Jets trade is odd to say the least. Ofc they wouldn't trade Hellebuyck for a soon to be UFA winger.

I don't see what's in it for Arizona at all, they get Schmidt and his less than great contract, for Välimäki and a downgrade in draft picks.
The Maple Leafs more than likely rejects their offer aswell.
Regarding the Devils trade, I just don't think it's very good for the Jets.

Boston Bruins signed David Pastrnak (8 Years / $11,250,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>I meant player and not forward bc he's going to be the 6th highest paid players in the NHL (Karlson deal isn't fair value either for the record). To add, he is playing with Marchand and Bergeron so his numbers are inflated just a little bit. You've also got to look at what he provides. For 11.25 mill, I want somebody that is an all-around player and Pasta just isn't that.
Again, Is he a very good player? Yes. Is he worth 11.25 and the 6th highest paid players in the NHL? No.</div></div>
Yeah no, he usually isn't on the same line as Marchand/Bergeron.

Ok, expensive might be the wrong word.
I mean expensive in as the Sharks are paying 2.45mil to get rid of a contract that is up in just another year, a contract they shouldn't even need to move before that.
And essentially they're doing it for no reward, unless they manage to flip Kerfoot for something.
But if that's the plan, why not just trade a retained Labanc for draft picks or a prospect, something that is of value to them?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>Because they are trying to move contracts they dont like. They get another player with less term so they can essentially get a cheaper buyout that last half as long, plus they can flip kerf for assets.
This is mostly just re writing what I had here. This isnt hard
Sounds like it may not happen (which frankly is a huge mistake) and we know they want to dump Lebanc</div></div>
It sure seems to be an expensive and complicated way of moving out an otherwise cheap contract.
They must really not want Labanc in order to go this route.
