Description

Ottawa gets a 1st + 2nd + 3 x 3rds and a fiesty, hard working winger prospect from the Leafs, who is having a great year in the AHL. I have Tverberg as the Leafs #4 prospect (behind Cowan, Minten and Niemela). He would be an interesting bottom 6 guy for Ottawa. Ottawa also gets cap space for the off season.

Calgary get a 1st round pick but it is in 2026. They get a 6th-7th replacement level RD for this year and next, with #5 upside. They get a 3rd rounder in this draft. But they give up a 2nd in this draft also.

Am I out to lunch on this one?

I really like the look of this d group.

Ottawa declines and leafs decline flames again and always will if it costs a first to do business with the flames leafs will look elsewhere

We would be getting back a 2nd this year also, which makes the 2026 1st rounder easier to move (not easy but easier)

you may be able to get a pair of chychs used underwear for that but not the player himself, OT will NEVER trade chych to the leafs

No it doesn’t make it easier not in the slightest and flames aren’t sending it anyways and we can’t even use the 26 1st because of conditions on the 25 1st lol it’s never gonna happen

He is still a solid dman - He can play the right or the left. Leafs are a better team with him. In this situation Chychrun is a clear upgrade and Tanev is comparable but he is a pure right shot. So his cap went out to improve their overall group. I don't see many scenarios where we actually trade Brodie. He is a good dman.

Moving Brodie doesn't make sense in most scenarios. This one is a rare exception in my mind.
