Way too much for TK. He scored 3 more goals than Olofsson...and then you're adding 3 future/former 1sts....and paying money on top of it.

That’s the going rate for him. So either pay it or someone else will. He’s younger, has more potential, cheaper, has term, and scored those numbers on a much worse team than Buffalo

And is gonna need a HUGE contract soon

ALSO
there’s a big difference between ASKING PRICE
and “going rate”

The asking price is always inflated
Just like the 1st offer is always deflated
Then a deal is struck somewhere in between
That’s how negotiations works
Not a complicated concept- u should really have a handle on it by now

Since when is the going rate for a 60-point player 3 1sts + 28-goal scorer + retained salary....

As a BUF fan, I love me some Briere, but if he thinks he's getting that kind of return, he's just gonna be holding TK.

At the TDL if he is having a big year Danny B prob doesn’t trade him. Would pay that if he having a little above average year. If Buffalo in hunt at TDL those two guys would be exactly what we need. TK would have 1 more year at a good rate and only 26. Well worth it

Tanev offer is reasonable

Konecny offer is too much
Plus i doubt we do it knowing he’s gonna need a huge contract coming soon
I like the player, but just don’t see the Sabres wanting to devote more Cap to him than guys like Tage & Cozens- it would kind of be a slap in the face to them

With all the forward talent we have coming,
it seems unlikely

He’s a Flyers homer that thinks what Briere’s reported asking price is, is EXACTLY what they’ll get for Konecny

He doesn’t know the difference between “asking price” & “going rate”

Exactly. BUF has zero need at Forward. Why waste all those assets?

It was either TK or Clayton Keller.Maybe a little much but at the TDL and in hunt you have to go for it. Love his game. Love Keller game too but TK plays a harder style. Ask Dahlin!

I'm all ears for a comparison. I've never seen a 60-point player traded for anything even remotely close to that.

Just don’t think the Sabres do it
Maybe we’ll be surprised though?

I think Olofsson should be taken out of the deal though
1- why would Philly even want him since he’s a UFA?
2- evens out the value much better
3- we can just trade Olofsson separately & get value back

Wee're talking about TK not 87. I like TK, but certainly not at that price.

I'd be willing to do:

Mitts + 3rd <> TK+ 2nd

PHI wins that trade. They get a #1C at a cheap price that is still an RFA.

Too much!!!

People last year were trading Mitts for a 2nd...

How about TK <> 2nd?

Was looking at next years guys and there are just so many players/prospects. I know they all don’t work out but by TDL this year KA should have a grasp on where things are at with Sabres and Roch (Kulich Rosen maybe Savioe Rousek) and then make a big deal for a TK Keller Connor or Someone in Wpg. So many options.

I get what you’re saying
But idk that Adams is ready to make this kind of big deal yet
Seems like he isn’t, even though we’d all like him to

Yea, BUF is loaded, so why deplete the system for a 1.5yr rental that barely plays above VO, plus dishing out a 1st round prospect, plus a 1st, plus a top-4 RD, plus pay money.... patience grasshopper. Ostlund will probably be just about as good as TK and just in time for our Cup hopes and at a much much cheaper price

I would do that 100% of time. Briere would be fired on the spot after trade was announced though. AntiAnalytics said in a post 1st 2024 Ostlund and Joki for TK. And that may be more fair. And we trade Olofsson to another team for a 2nd rd 2024 at TDL.

I think by trade deadline Adams will be. Because Sabres be right there.
What scares me is they will get P Kane. I don’t want that. He is close with Adams. Played in Chi with Adams. Adams mentored him in Chi. Both Buf boys. Makes too much sense.

I still don't like TK's term. He has 2 years left...is he going to win us a Cup in 2 years? I doubt it.

Then how much money will he want after that? Too much for BUF...we already have tons of talent at F to overpay someone...

Just a hard pass....

And thats fine. Would you pay that for Clayton Keller? He was the other guy I had in mind at TDL and went with TK instead.

I highly doubt Buffalo trades all of that for TK, regardless of the circumstances. You could get Olofsson, Jokiharju and even Ostlund sure. But the 24 1st wouldn’t be joining them. Maybe a 24 3rd or 25 2nd

I would 100% try to trade for Keller. Still your offer is way too much for him.

And...F is the last thing BUF needs. I don't really see the point in trading for a F at this point.
