1) You'd owe the Islanders compensation for De Haan
2) If that's his actual contract, the Islanders would easily match
3) You're about $1.5-2M off on his AAV. Orlov just got $5.1M...

Impossible to sign Elliott. Regardless of when they sign him they would owe St.Louis a pick a 3rd round pick, which they don't have anymore. Not to mention, there is no way in hell he would accept that deal. And why would the Flames trade for Lack and then sign Elliott? How does that make any sense even if the 3rd wasn't already the issue.

Bennett is going to get more than that as well.

Signing Elliot because reports say he's getting little to no interest, and Bennett only got 28 points last year. Also signed Elliott because Lack had some of the worst stats in the NHL last year with Carolina.
