Honestly he should just sign a 4 year deal with Buffalo then. The Sabres have as good a chance as anyone to win the cup in the next 4 years.

He’s not opposed to signing here, but he’s also looking at all his options
He’s also considering not signing until he’s closer to getting healthy
That way he can see how the Sabres & other teams are doing before he makes his decision
He knows that to sign with the Sabres all he’s gotta do is have his agent pick up the phone & call our our owner, who loves him
That option was put on the table & relayed to him (on July1)
He said he wants to take his time & decide
His family obviously would love to see him sign with Buffalo,
but they also want the best for him
It’s completely up in the air (as of the last time i talked to his sister, about 2 weeks ago)
