<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Hey Elliotte, can you still find tapes for that VCR? Tampa Bay probably declines. Scoring goals isn't the problem. It's keeping the puck out of their own net. Adding another offensive D man at the expense of maybe their best defensive forward seems like a step in the wrong direction. Plus Hronek's new contract probably eats up cap space the Bolts need to spend elsewhere.</div></div>
I guess my thought is that running Perbix, Raddysh, Crozier, De Haan isn't cutting it.

Higher cap hit, NMC, etc. Don't think Miki takes a first but I'm sure teams would put that out there. It's crazy Miki has 30 pts but 1 goal/a few pts since Jan 1.

If no Lindholm, then Petey at C and spending money on the wing. I'm not against that but Lindholm's two way game is a big plus for the team and takes pressure on EP and JT on PK and he's good on PP.
I'd rather load up at center and run the lotto line. And if injuries happen, it's not an issue. The forward depth is very concerning right now.

There was another too. Easily could have been 3-3 or 4-3 Van.

Good to have flexibility. Sure sometimes he is 3rd line but that third line is out playing Petey with Hog and whatever plug they have. And when Lotto gets the call, Lindholm is great to have.
Hughes doesn't need Hronek to be great. Neither does this team. I like Hronek a lot but he needs to do more if we are talking $7M+. I would love to see him out there w Z or Soucy driving offense without Hughes. Haven't seen it yet. And Willander can run pp2 soon enough for the 10 seconds it gets lol

KYLE TURN UP GAP YEAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Not a bad effort. The D group and goaltending is spot on. Chatfield probably gets a little more $ per and gets 2 or 3 years, but he's the right type of player. Can't see Stammer signing w/ the Hawks, especially for one year. I'm going to be surprised if he leaves Tampa. PK88 coming back would be awesome, but seems unlikely as well. But I do expect the Hawks to be aggressive in free agency and sign at least two top 6 level forwards. As for that trade, Hawks perspective just keep Reichel. Can't see why Hawks make that deal</div></div>
For sure. Stammer probably unlikely but definitely looking to add to the top 6 but only short term. The potential free agency class next year makes sense to keep money for.
I wasn't sure about how the org felt about Reichel's development. Edmonton gets a cheaper forward and Bourgault a much better opportunity.

Ya, I was thinking somewhere between 5.5-6.5. He'd only be 30 at the end of an 8 yr deal so a bridge might be a good idea to look toward a longer term deal to 32-33 in the future.

He was also +3 over those 18 games.</div></div>
I know he's good and very high ceiling. He's just not significantly better than Hronek like Landro is on about. Certainly could be, especially with the talent brewing in Anaheim..It's all good if it's not a sensible deal for Ducks. Trying it out.

Hughes could make a pylon rich. Willing to chase some UFAs on the right, such as Walker, Carrier or Tanev, and bring back Myers. All short 1-2 yr window (including Lindell for the purposes of this ACGM) vs term for Z and give DPetey and Willander another year to develop.

I'd be happy with that. Even a mid pick given how little '24 picks Van has.

His defensive metrics have dipped this year and has been a healthy scratch a few times already. not looking promising. if we are going to make a risk on a buy low candidate like this i much rather us spend the extra money on Lindholm assuming he comes in at the 50-56 million range.</div></div>
I like the idea that he's signed through his 20s vs signing Lindy through his 30s while also swapping money out for a need. $4.8M isn't all that scary for 3C where as $7M for Lindy is scaring me.

Lias Anderson is nearly ppg in Laval, doesn't mean I'd trade Pod for him.
Van isn't down on Pod. He earned his way back to the Sr Canucks.
They wouldn't trade him for a LHD of Harris' profile, especially with D Petey coming soon. They'd just extend Cole for a season given his impact on the PK.
Harris is decent player but not the right fit imo.

If Van were considering trading Pod, it would probably have to be Barron. Can't see Van adding draft comp either.
Send Raty down (he's playing wing now unless moved back to center next season) and forget about overpaying Duhaime. Put the money into 3C.

Interesting signing and trade. Personally would be okay with the trade for Van vs 5 yrs of Big Z with the likes of D Petey on the horizon. Way better price for 3rd pairing and provides PK Van needs vs $4M for Z and allow Van to add a top 6 winger.

Well, Pens players have a history of not wanting to go to the Caps... if you exclude Niskanen, Orpik, Sheary, Sprong, Hagelin, Schultz...
Guentzel would take 7x11 with the caps in a heartbeat. He wants to get paid, he's got cups, and he'd be the top scorer on an up and coming team that has plenty of youth on the roster.</div></div>
Kind of wonder about the feelings after the trade as well. Caps would be deep with him and have the $.

Poitras played some winger in the past from what I read:

But certainly can learn from Coyle in the meantime or Geekie slides out to the wing. I think that was a line combo this year before his injury anyway.
