Calgary won't be trading this year's 1st unless it's for a player they *really want who fills an immediate need like a good not too old top 6 center with term or a prospect who's close to a sure thing to be a good top 6 / top 4. Anything less isn't worth losing a great chance of landing a prospect like Tij Iginla, Carter Yakemchuk or someone even better than those two.

Theres a plethora of high potential defencemen in the top 10 this year trading out of it for an RFA (my bad) who’s going to get paid in the offseason makes no sense for a rebuilding team.
This team is nowhere near ready to compete so picks are almost certainly not going to be traded for almost anything.

Value for Mikheyev seems about right. But I don’t see the caps being interested. I don’t see them trading for anyone who isnt a legit top-6 player

Nice team, it's unfortunate you can sign other team's UFAs to a maximum of 7 years though.

TAM VCR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>I guess my thought is that running Perbix, Raddysh, Crozier, De Haan isn't cutting it.</div></div>
Exactly. It's not. But I really don't see Hronek as a player who makes the blue line better defensively. Tampa has plenty of offense from their blue line. They need another Cernak type player. Perbix was supposed to be that guy but his hockey IQ seems really low. Makes too many poor decisions. Hronek's new contract would be problematic as well. Likely winds up costing more than what Cirelli does, which is cap space Tampa doesn't have.

Yeah Petey has not been good so far.

I accept on Edmonton's behalf. I've always like Reichel and the German connection with Draisaitl is obvious.

KYLE TURN UP GAP YEAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>For sure. Stammer probably unlikely but definitely looking to add to the top 6 but only short term. The potential free agency class next year makes sense to keep money for.
I wasn't sure about how the org felt about Reichel's development. Edmonton gets a cheaper forward and Bourgault a much better opportunity.</div></div>
Pretty sure the org is still high on Reichel. He was SO MUCH better after the TDL following his 8 game reset in the AHL. His early season struggles were a result of some "tough love" by the coaching staff trying to make Reichel a more complete player. But next season might be Reichel's make or break season.

KYLE TURN UP GAP YEAR
Not a bad effort. The D group and goaltending is spot on. Chatfield probably gets a little more $ per and gets 2 or 3 years, but he's the right type of player. Can't see Stammer signing w/ the Hawks, especially for one year. I'm going to be surprised if he leaves Tampa. PK88 coming back would be awesome, but seems unlikely as well. But I do expect the Hawks to be aggressive in free agency and sign at least two top 6 level forwards. As for that trade, Hawks perspective just keep Reichel. Can't see why Hawks make that deal

KYLE TURN UP GAP YEAR
I didn't see the word for word interview, but I'm pretty sure he said the weren't likely going to target the big fish. They do 100% want to get better AND they can't be taking on too many cap dumps for too long, BUT getting a veteran from another team like Anders Lee or a JPG could be a good longer term move. We have 2 years worth of cap space to play with, but that 3rd year is a killer.

Since his return from the LTIR list the first time on December 23 (i.e., all the games he played without injury not counting the game on January 9 when he broke his ankle three shifts in), he scored 5 goals and 8 assists in 18 games (0.72 PPG), which is pretty darn close to his historical record of 0.77 PPG. He was also +3 over those 18 games.

Hawks might consider that. Klimovich probably checks enough boxes as a prospect for the Hawks to take on Mikheyev.

For the sake of argument, because there's no chance of Petey going anywhere. If they did trade him you're gonna have to up Michkov and that's non-negotiable.

Could make a pylon rich. :tearsofjoy I'm absolutely stealing that.
Hey man, he heard everyone talking about oh Hughes is great but he can't defend, and went home and went to work. Good for him.
On a related note, Vancouver is the only West team I'm allowing to win the Cup. So don't screw up getting to the final! I don't want any risk of the other seven winning.

I gotta agree, he fits well with Hughes and Canucks system. The value is generous I think, but not really fitting the right needs for the Canucks. RD is their biggest weakness depth-wise.
