You can't have picks conditional upon resigning players anymore. They stopped that like 2 years ago, they claimed it lowered player values

I do NOT see Zegras signing for that low a price. If he was going to accept that salary - he would very likely be signed already.

I doubt ducks do that deal but if you take the picks out I’d still do it

Can't recall what outlet (Gloves Off Hockey, Hockey Feed, etc.) But one post claimed the Ducks are currently only offering 3-4M per year. I figured a 3 year 5.5M "Prove you're a consistent star" contract would be sufficient on both sides. Over those three years he'll be top 6 on the Leafs. Bunting even looked impressive and got a pay raise out of it. I guess 6M would look better but would leave less wiggle room to work with in terms of cap for any injuries that may arise throughout the year.

Hard to believe that is all ANA is offering, especially after locking up Terry for $7mx7yrs. Zegras I assume is expecting/demanding the same/similar deal.
