**** I did not hear that, that could be trouble, Ruedal hasn't looked good at all and no way Smith and PO JO can play together. If that is true the only hope is that someone has a cheap young D man who's right handed and stay at home instead of left handed and puck moving and needs a guy who's left handed and puck moving, maybe then a lateral swap for Smith is possible, but I can't think of anyone in that situation.

Closest I can think of is Ottawa maybe being willing to swap smith and JBD if we threw in a prospect or something but I really don't see them doing that

Pysyk, before being injured for the umpteenth time, was available on July 1 and the Pens elected to re-sign Smith and sign Butcher and Shea. Even healthy, Pysyk likely wasn’t going to get a contract. He isn’t a terribly talented player as it is and, if the greatest ability is availability, then he’s really not much of an asset at all.

I am not saying he's great but we can't put an offensive Deffenceman with POJ and I can't think of any stay at home D man in camp who was a better option before he got hurt
