That's a fair trade, but the Wings would have to be OUT of a playoff spot. Winnipeg would have to be IN a playoff spot!

Both are borderline at the moment, IMO

Value is fine for Detroit. Don't know if we would want Appleton back or if we would prefer to leave a spot open for a young player. Detroit probably takes this though.

Yeah I don't mind it, would allow us to trade Fischer as well and he could fill that spot. By the deadline there will likely be enough injuries (Fabbri) that our young guys should get some time.

Also with a few pending UFAs and only two retention slots, I think it's better to not retain if possible.

I would rather retain on Perron and ask for Salomonsson back instead of taking Appleton. If that's not possible then I'd ask for Namestnikov instead, he's a much better fit for us.

Perron at 50% for Salomonsson + 2nd.
OR
Perron at 100% for Namestnikov + 2nd.
OR even
Perron at 50% for 1st.

doubt the jets would part with that 2nd plus more considering that 2nd is montreals which is basically a late first

You're the one who proposed it... :-)

I would really like to get Salomonsson from you. What would such a deal look like then?

Perron at 50% for Salomonsson + 2nd in 2025?

That second being as high is part of the reason I didn't argue too much about the value. Would love a first but not sure he gets it at his age. They just signed Names so I doubt they move him already. Appleton is just a throw in in my opinion. Ideally we get more though.

I didn't propose a 2nd plus anything appleton has no value

Appleton most definitely has value, a negative one. He's got two years on his contract, you cannot seroiously think that any team would take him off your hands without compensation for doing so, can you?

Perron alone is worth a high 2nd round pick, if you wan't to dump cap at the same time then you will have to add.
