Nylander could replace one of the other bottom line players (most likely Nieto) if he plays well for the rest of preseason. Either Nylander or whatever forward gets doesn't make the lineup (other than Carter) gets sent down to make cap work

I like this a lot, but the way things are trending it seems unlikely Ryan Shea doesn’t make the team

Didn't think of him. Very well could be on the roster come opening night

I like the idea of waiving Friedman because I think he clears. Then running Shea in that 3rd pair rd for a couple weeks to give him a real shot and discover what he is (because at this point we understand what Friedman, smith, Ruhwedel are) and if he fails just waive him and bring Friedman back up
