Description
This looks like it'll be it for tomorrow

1st line is a lock:
Marchand - Poitras - Debrusk
This should be the first line on opening night, unless Coyle truly looks better than Poitras, which he hasn't so far. Not a knock on Coyle, Poitras has just looked that good, offensively.

2nd line:
Boqvist/Steen/Greer - Zacha - Pastrnak
Only one of Boqvist/Greer/Steen makes the team I'd imagine. Assuming Poitras makes the team, these guys are on the outside looking in. The goal here, I'd assume, is to play the player with the most offensive potential on 2lw, to see if they're worth a 4th line job or 13th forward job to keep in the arsenal in case of injury to the top 6. It comes down to what they want out of their potential 4th line.

3rd line:
Frederic - Coyle - Geekie
This isn't a bad line, and should be a lock to start. It comes down to if Geekie has enough offensive potential, compared to someone like Lauko or Heinen.

4th line:
Boqvist/Steen/Greer on the wings, and Brown/Beecher down the middle. They'll have to scratch someone tomorrow, so we'll see if it's one of them, or a dman. I'd like a good head to head of Beecher vs Brown alternating in this job, although it's becoming increasingly clear Beecher is a better fit.

1st pairing:
Lohrei - Mcavoy
When Lohrei is certainly NHL ready, do they trade Forbort or Grzelcyk? That's all I'd be interested in.

2nd pairing:
Grzelcyk - Carlo
Nothing to be said here.

3rd pairing:
Zboril/Forbort - Mitchell
Do they want to get Forbort more reps (likely), or do they want a head to head between Mitchell and Zboril to fight for that 7th spot? I'd go with the latter.

I don't think Poitras with 63 and 74 is a lock. We've seen him with 63 but, why not with 88? van Riemsdyk is out which opens up a spot and they could try Zacha-Poitras-Pastrnak, a potential line. It leaves Marchand-Coyle-DeBrusk (initial projected 1st) and Frederic-Geekie-Boqvist/Steen, a potential 3rd line.

I think Zboril and Forbort will both be in as Zboril got injured in the first game and only played one more and Forbort only played yesterday. McAvoy, Carlo and Grzelcyk for reps and Mitchell and Lohrei have also played 3 games so far.

Let's find out tomorrow.

I'd argue that Poitras and Zacha are their top, and really only, playmaking centers, so they should be utilized as centers. Poitras has better playmaking abilities than Coyle imo, so it would be a waste of talent to see him with bottom 6 wingers. The Zacha/Poitras/Pastrnak line is very intriguing, but I think they'd be a little top heavy, I'd rather see Coyle as 3c to give better depth for matchups against these deep Atlantic teams, like Toronto, Buffalo and Ottawa. However, your idea is the closest thing to a true first line, so maybe that's the way to go instead of aiming for depth. I'd love to see both. Pumped for tomorrow
