Random and possible trade deadline moves

Created by: BluesReport18
Team: 2023-24 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 17, 2023
Published: Oct. 17, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
STL
  1. Oshie, T.J.
Additional Details:
I just like this swap and saw someone else post it. Oshie and Krug are on the decline. Krug provides more short term help for Washington who can put him with Jenson and Oshie has the shorter term contract which fits the Blues retool.

Add picks to either side to make it work
WSH
  1. Krug, Torey ($1,500,000 retained)
2.
STL
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Nothing crazy here. Kapanen has looked really solid this year and would be the perfect fit for a contending team looking to make a push.
Doesn't have to be the oilers but he would be a good fit there I think.
EDM
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi ($1,600,000 retained)
3.
STL
  1. Liljegren, Timothy
Additional Details:
Unrealistic, maybe, but i think Toronto will be in the market for more gritty players as usual and I could really see them coming after Bortz.

Could also just do Bortz for a 5th or something small but this was a more interesting thought.

Army was at the Leafs game last night so maybe he is seeing if they have anyone he wants on their roster. Or more likely he's just doing his due diligence.
TOR
  1. Bortuzzo, Robert
  2. Sundqvist, Oskar
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (STL)
4.
STL
  1. 2024 5th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
This could be any contending team that loses a dman and put their salary on LTIR.
If blues retain salary it likely costs a 3rd to get him.
5.
STL
  1. Nyman, Jani
  2. Yamamoto, Kailer
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Seattle NEEDS a pure goal scorer.
Sign Vrana long term and he is just that for his team.

The first one is unspeakably horrible. The Seattle trade is awful, too.

I could see the oilers making that trade for a 4th or 5th but definitely not a 2nd they got bjugstad at a 450k cap hit for a 3rd and he is better than kapanen
